It was so nice to see so many smiling faces at our January luncheon. I hope you enjoyed our program on China given by Akiko’s husband, Lyle Bultman. I thought the Club did a wonderful job with the Chinese food for lunch. Sorry the service was a bit slow, but I hope you all still had a really good time.

I am excited to start the New Year! I think our Interest Groups are thriving, the food at our luncheons continues to get better and better, and everyone seems very enthusiastic and supportive of our programs and special events. I think, however, our new web site is what excites me the most!

If you haven’t looked at the web site, please go to and browse around. Once you select “members” the password is “welcometofloridanew”. Presently the latest directory and this year’s calendar are on-line. Eventually, these will become interactive, and you will be able to search each section for whatever info you need.

What I am REALLY looking forward to, however, is when we set the site up so members can pay for everything on line: lunches, dues, special events, etc. What a great feature that will be! This feature will be our next addition to the site. Isabel, Jeanne Bolds, and I have made on-line payments our number one priority, so stay tuned.

Hope to see you all at our next luncheon at Quail West on February 8. Please send in your checks to reserve a place at the luncheon as soon as possible. The January luncheon was at capacity and we ended up having to start a waiting list.

I also want to thank all of you for the generous words of support you have given me as I recover from my fall. Keeps me smiling!!!!
