Club Activities

Monthly Luncheons – held on the second Wednesday of the months during the season. These events, which require prior registration and payment, include social time, important Club announcements; and a program, often a speaker of interest.

Summer Luncheons – continuing the monthly luncheon tradition that we enjoy during the season, we opt for gathering in popular Naples restaurants for casual conversation during the summer.

Such a Great Variety of Interest Groups!

(Gatherings November through April unless otherwise indicated)

Afternoon Art – Meet Naples artists in their working studios and watch art come to life! We will try to visit two artists each month, and we may have an early dinner afterwards.

Afternoon at the Movies – This group watches interesting and popular movies showing at the Silverspot Cinema in Mercato. After the movie, we will be going to a nearby restaurant where we can discuss the film and get to know each other.

Book Club – This group discusses interesting and relevant books announced ahead of time. Lunch and Mah-jongg afterwards if you would like to stay.

Coffee and Conversation – A small group in a member’s home, this is a great way to meet Club members in a more personal setting.

Countries, Customs, and Cultures – Members enjoy a presentation about and/or discussion of a different country during each gathering.

Evening with Friends – This group offers a great opportunity for club members to get to know each other in a more intimate setting.

French Atelier Conversation – This group enjoys various needle and thread activities, including knitting, sewing, and crocheting, all while speaking French. Participants bring their own craft, and must have necessary crafting and language skills (this is not a class).

*German Kafeeklatsch Conversation – Social get-together for German speakers, along with coffee and pastries.

India – Each month a different region of India will be explored including geography, clothing, music, food, customs and way of life.

*Ladies Night Out –  Enjoy delicious dinners with friends at a variety of Naples’ fine restaurants.

Les Gourmettes –  Gather with friends who are interested in demonstrating the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals. Each attendee offers to host and share international recipes once during the season.

Let’s Go on a Trip Together – A club member or invited guest makes a presentation about a place they have lived in or visited. Discussion encouraged after the presentation.

Mah-jongg – Enjoy friendly competition playing this popular Chinese board game. You might want to attend Book Club and lunch at the same location beforehand.

Market Baskets – Visit an ethnic market and enjoy lunch together in the area.

Performing Arts – This group will focus on appreciating our members’ talents in theater and other performing arts. If you have such a talent to share, please join this group! In the first meeting, plans for the season will be discussed. There may be a live performance/staged reading.

Phyl@The Baker and Art Appreciation – Phyllis Liebman is a terrific docent at The Baker Art Museum and a member of our Club. Private tours of all the fascinating exhibits that come to the Baker during the year.

Salon –  We select a topic for each meeting hoping for a lively conversation letting all present to share their story or discussion on the topic. We then finish our time together with some refreshments, thanks to our current hostess.

Share Your Passion – Members offer to share a special collection, talent, or interest in an art or craft. The hostess supplies refreshments.

*South Naples Happy Hour Dinner – This group meets at various venues throughout the year for an early dinner at different nationality restaurants.

Spanish Tertulia Conversation – Spanish-speaking members socialize and discuss various topics.

*Technology Topics – Learn how to use Apple technology (iPhones and Mac laptops) for less frustration, more efficiency and fun!  We will learn about topics such as Apps, Contacts, Dictation, Facebook, Gmail, Keyboards, Notifications, Photos, Texting, Using your Phone as a GPS, and WiFi connections. Participants’ questions are welcome!

Walk and Talk in Naples Parks – Let’s be active while we chat! We will visit different parks each month and leisurely walk about two miles. Optional lunch at a nearby restaurant afterwards.
