Art Appreciation – This group explores the influence of times and events on artistic works.
A Toast to Opera – A great activity to present the enchanting world of opera by Opera Naples. A lecture and discussion series is offered at the Wang Opera Center to celebrate the season’s grand operas. After a performance by singers, a champagne reception follows.
Afternoon at the Movies – This group watches interesting and popular movies showing at the Silverspot Cinema in Mercato.
Atelier Français (French Studio) – This group enjoys various needle and thread activities, including knitting, sewing, and crocheting, all while speaking French. Participants bring their own craft, and must have necessary crafting and language skills (this is not a class).
Book Club – This group discusses interesting and relevant books announced ahead of time.
Coffee and Conversation – A small group in a members’ home, this is a great way to meet Club members in a more personal setting.
Countries, Customs, and Cultures – Members enjoy a presentation about and/or discussion of a different country during each gathering.
Duplicate Bridge – Intermediate level duplicate bridge; knowledge of basic bidding conventions, or better, is required. The group plays approximately 16-20 boards, 2 or 3 tables each month. Very friendly bridge!
Evening with Friends – This group offers a great opportunity for club members to get to know each other in a more intimate setting.
German Conversation – German conversation along with coffee and pastries.
India – Each month a different region of India will be explored including geography, clothing, music, food, customs and way of life. Fourth Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
*Ladies Night Out – Enjoy delicious dinners with friends at a variety of Naples’ fine restaurants.
Les Gourmettes – Gather with friends who are interested in demonstrating the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals. Each attendee offers to host and share international recipes once during the season.
*Let’s Go on a Trip – A club member or invited guest makes a presentation about a place they have lived in or visited. Discussion encouraged after the presentation.
Mah-jongg – Enjoy friendly competition playing this popular Chinese board game.
Market Baskets – Visit an ethnic market and enjoy lunch together in the area.
Performing Arts – This group will focus on theater and other performing arts. At the beginning of the season, members will decide on the plays or performances the group wishes to attend. After the performance, the group may get together over coffee or a meal to discuss, review, and critique.
Phyl@The Baker – Phyllis Liebman is a terrific docent at The Baker Art Museum and a member of our Club. Private tours of all the fascinating exhibits that come to the Baker during the year.
Salon – Members create a list of topics to discuss while having light refreshments.
Share Your Passion – Members offer to share a special collection, talent, or interest in an art or craft. The hostess supplies refreshments.
*South Naples Happy Hour – This group meets at different venues throughout the year. All members are welcome! Please wear your name tag.
*Summer Luncheons – continuing the monthly luncheon tradition that we enjoy during the season, we opt for gathering in popular Naples restaurants for casual conversation during the summer. June, July, August, September, October.
Tertulia (Spanish Conversation) – Spanish-speaking members socialize and discuss various topics.
*these activities hold gatherings in the summer too
